ARAU, what is it?
L'ARAU (Atelier de Recherche et d'Actions urbaines) is a group of Brussels residents organised as a non-profit association, which examines urban developement projects, both public and private, and attempts to improve them from the point of view of local residents, by suggesting more housing, more mixed-function buildings, a more varied mix of social classes and devotion of public space for the use of active citizens. Our overall objective is to promote the city as a place where people want to live.
