In the early 1920s, the “Foyer koekelbergeois” housing association commissioned a vast complex of social housing from four architects who, building next to each other in styles between tradition and modernity, have left us a magnificent panorama of different trends in social housing design in the period following the First World War. It was here that the young Victor Bourgeois designed his first buildings with Fernand Brunfaut. This guided tour is also an opportunity to explore some of the remains of the district’s industrial past.
