The development of a trans-shipment goods station and new port infrastructures on the Tour and Taxis site in the early twentieth century had a huge effect on this district. Many import-export companies and their associated industries moved here, including tobacco processors and wines and spirits distributors. The former Byrrh apéritif warehouse has been completely renovated and put to a new use to tell the story of this history. Boulevard du Jubilé has retained many beautiful buildings, a mix of bourgeois family houses, small and large industrial premises and social housing. Closer to the canal, a new district has recently been created. The Tivoli site with its brand-new housing and the Greenbizz business centre stand out and have given a new face to this former industrial environment.
