The “Our Lady of the Snows” district that we see today was created in the 1870s. Covering the strip of land between the Congress Column and the inner ring road, its high-quality public spaces and ornate facades create a unique urban environment. From its creation, this district was endowed with sumptuous public buildings dedicated to the pleasures of middle-class life, such as the Royal Circus theatre, the Parliament Gallery, the Royal Baths and the Eden Theatre, of which a few traces remain.
